Applications have opened for a heating fuel support scheme.

The scheme is for Pembrokeshire residents who use heating oil or LPG.

Funded by the Welsh Government and run by local councils, the scheme offers a one-off payment of £200 to help low-income households with rising energy costs.

To be eligible, households must meet two criteria: be in receipt of, or successfully apply for, the Council Tax Reduction Scheme between April 1 and July 31, 2026, and use heating oil or LPG as their main heating source, with proof like a bill from within the last year.

Only one payment per household is allowed, and applicants must live at the property as their main residence.

Pembrokeshire County Council will send letters to households likely to be eligible, inviting them to apply.

Applicants will be asked to confirm their heating fuel type, provide evidence, and submit bank details for payment.

The deadline for applications is September 30, 2026.

Successful claims will be paid directly into bank accounts no later than October 31, 2026.

More information about the Off Grid Heating Fuel Support Scheme can be found on the council's dedicated webpage.
