Analyst Says Trump Will Force Israel to Withdraw from Lebanon

Political analyst Abdullah Nimah said that the meeting between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and US President Donald Trump at the White House is expected to be very fruitful, as there is some information that the US president will propose other areas as part of the experimental zones. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun visits the White House on Tuesday, in the first visit by a Lebanese president to Washington in nearly two decades, carrying a proposal addressing the mechanism for disarming Hezbollah and ensuring the withdrawal of occupation forces from southern Lebanon, at a time when southern Lebanon is witnessing field steps to implement new security arrangements. Nimah added to Al-Dustour that Trump will force Israel to withdraw from Lebanon as an American gesture to build trust that Washington is serious about implementing the framework agreement signed by Israel and Lebanon under American auspices and Arab cover. He explained that this indicates that the US administration is serious about concluding an agreement between Lebanon and Israel in the coming period to achieve peace, and that is what Arab countries, led by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey, are working on in coordination with Trump. He stated that Hezbollah is no longer able to stop or overthrow the agreement that Lebanon signed under American and Arab auspices, and that the US administration, in the context of the ongoing negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, has rescued Lebanon from the grip of Iran. He added that the political circumstances in Lebanon have changed and Hezbollah's policy is no longer acceptable to political leaders, parties, and 80% of the Lebanese people. In the coming days, war between America, Iran, and Israel is expected to resume, and it will be the final war, a decisive blow from Israel and America against Iran. He stressed that what Iran is doing by striking Gulf countries and closing the Strait of Hormuz will complicate matters further, because this policy pursued by Iran is not correct, and the coming days will be difficult for Iran, and the region may return to war soon.
