The American company Apple announced a strategic agreement with Google that involves an annual payment of $1 billion to integrate the Gemini artificial intelligence model into the new iOS 27 operating system. The announcement was made by the company's CEO, Tim Cook, during the worldwide developers conference WWDC 2026.
This tech alliance will allow the total reconstruction of Siri on a platform that has 1.2 trillion data processing parameters. With this update, the virtual assistant will abandon its traditional format to become an independent tool within the company's ecosystem.
Test versions for the software developer community were released this Monday after the company's official presentation. According to the schedule established by the corporation, the final release for the general public will take place in September of this year.
New interface and operation of Siri
The software overhaul transforms the assistant into an autonomous application that will operate with an interface similar to the iMessage messaging system. This modification will facilitate a more fluid and intuitive interaction through text and voice, representing a structural change in the user experience.
Additionally, the service will have direct integration into the Dynamic Island of phone devices, optimizing the execution of simultaneous tasks on the screen. Sources from the technology company detailed that the goal is to increase the tool's competitiveness in the global digital solutions market.
