Residents living in and around the Fort Hood should brace themselves for a significant uptick in aerial activity and low-frequency acoustic booms. According to Fox44, starting Monday, B-52 Stratofortress bombers are scheduled to conduct routine training operations that will be quite loud.

The strategic bombers, deployed from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, will release 500-pound live munitions. The high-altitude training windows are scheduled to take place between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on June 15–16, with a second wave of exercises scheduled for June 22–26.

The base impact zone remains strictly off-limits to all unauthorized individuals. If you encounter any unusual metallic objects near the training boundaries, do not touch them. Immediately notify local emergency services by dialing 911. While the incoming detonations will undoubtedly shake windows and increase local noise levels, base representatives say the exercises are necessary. I mean, come on. We live and work near an army base. This is to be expected!!! Local residents should expect a noticeable rumble during the designated midday hours of training.
