Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Good afternoon, Capitec family. My name is Santie Botha and I chair the Board of Capitec. It is my pleasure to welcome you all here to the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the shareholders of Capitec. Welcome also to those shareholders who are present here today as well as those attending virtually.

We entered 2026 anticipating a more stable backdrop compared to the tariff tsunami of 2025. But to expect stable nowadays, as we all know, is a pipe dream. Geopolitical unpredictability and often overnight change is what it's all about. Low levels of trust persist across all major global markets. The first 7 months of 2026 bear testimony to that. We find ourselves in a world of a weaker global growth outlook and ever-fluctuating and higher oil prices, with supply-side inflation remaining under pressure. Rapid advances and major investments in AI across all spheres of business continue to dominate the headlines, but it has also brought about heightened cyber and market risks.

South Africa. In the current geopolitical chaos, with inflation targets and economic growth remaining under pressure, uneasy U.S. relations as well as other challenges, our financial system remains broadly resilient, supported by strong capital positions and liquidity. As South Africans, most of us will always make a plan. We have a winning mentality and we will contribute in whatever way we can to build on our magnificent country's growth potential. In the world of Capitec, our focus is clear. We are the bank for everyone, and our #1 priority is to serve our clients to the utmost of our ability.
