Claire's Accessories has officially closed 154 of its standalone stores in Ireland and the United Kingdom, effective April 27th. This closure impacts approximately 1,300 employees who have been advised of their redundancy. The company had previously been placed into administration earlier this year after attempts to keep the stores operational failed. Modella Capital, a private equity firm, acquired the company last year following its bankruptcy filing. Kroll was appointed to manage the administration process. A spokesperson for Kroll stated that an interested party is in discussions with landlords about taking over leases for some of the affected sites.
