Disney+ and Hulu have both increased their prices, with some ad-free plans seeing a 13 percent jump.
Disney+'s and Hulu's standalone ad-free plans, which support 4K and HDR, are now $21.50 per month, up from $19.
The ad-supported versions of Disney+ and Hulu have also seen a price increase, from $12 to $12.50 per month.
The Walt Disney Company has also adjusted prices for bundles that include ESPN.
The ad-free bundle of Disney+ and Hulu is now $22 per month, an increase from $20. The ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle remains at $13 per month.
Prices for bundles including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN with ads have risen from $20 to $22 per month. The ad-free version of this bundle has increased from $29 to $33 per month.
Hulu + Live TV, which offers live cable channels alongside on-demand content, has seen a $10 monthly price increase.
For comparison, Netflix's ad-supported plan costs $9 per month, and its ad-free plan starts at $20 per month, with a premium ad-free option at $27 that includes 4K and HDR. This makes Disney+ and Hulu's ad-free plans more expensive than Netflix's most popular offering, unless the user requires 4K or HDR.
This is the fourth price increase for Disney+ in four years. Previous price hikes occurred in October 2025, October 2024, October 2023, and December 2022. Disney+ launched in 2019.
Hulu's recent price adjustments follow similar patterns, with increases in October 2025, October 2024, October 2023, and October 2022. Hulu launched in 2008.
These price hikes come shortly after Disney increased the prices for both tiers of its ESPN streaming service on September 17.
In its latest quarterly earnings report, Disney announced an 11 percent revenue increase for Disney+ and Hulu. Operating income for the combined services surged 116 percent year-over-year to $712 million. Netflix reported an operating income of $4.19 billion in its most recent earnings. Netflix has a larger subscriber base, with 325 million subscribers as of January, compared to Disney+'s 131.6 million as of September 2025 and Hulu's 59.7 million on-demand subscribers as of September 2025.
The price increases are likely part of Disney's strategy to achieve profitability in its streaming division. The success of Netflix suggests there is still significant growth potential in the market. The new pricing may also encourage customers to opt for bundles, which streaming providers believe can reduce cancellations and help manage the volatile advertising market.
