Educational Testing Service (ETS) plans to lay off 62 employees at its Princeton location, according to a filing posted in September with the New Jersey Department of Labor.
The company, with offices at 660 Rosedale Road, submitted the notice under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The affected workers are scheduled to be laid off in two waves, with separations set for Nov. 9 and Dec. 31, 2026, according to the filing.
The company is a nonprofit organization focused on educational assessment and research.
It is one of the world’s largest private testing organizations and is best known for developing and administering major standardized exams.
ETS is among several New Jersey employers to recently announce layoffs.
Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. notified state officials that it will lay off 54 workers at its Rahway location, according to a September filing with the New Jersey Department of Labor.
The layoffs are part of a companywide initiative announced in 2025 to cut $3 billion in costs by 2027.
Financial services provider UBS also notified New Jersey officials of plans to lay off 41 workers at its Weehawken location, according to a filing posted in September.
The layoffs are scheduled to take effect between Nov. 25 and Nov. 30, 2026, the September filing shows.
