The exhumation of 112 martyrs from the Abu Sharia and Al-Hassaina families, recovered from under the rubble of a horrific massacre months after it occurred, brings to the forefront one of the most heinous crimes committed by the occupation forces. They destroyed an entire residential block with incendiary belts on November 22, 2023, and prevented rescue teams from reaching the victims. The death toll from the massacre has risen to about 308 martyrs, including 44 children, 37 women, and a number of people with disabilities.
We extend our deepest condolences and sympathy to the struggling, patient, and noble Abu Sharia family and to all our Palestinian people in mourning a new group of martyrs from the horrific massacre committed by the occupation forces against the Abu Sharia and Al-Hassaina families in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City.
This crime is irrefutable evidence of the brutality of the genocide war our Palestinian people are subjected to and the extent of grave violations of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, which necessitates urgent international action to hold the occupation leaders accountable and provide justice for the victims and their families.
What is happening in Palestine in terms of violations by the Israeli military occupation, and the confirmation that Israeli practices amount to collective punishment, chief among them the suffocating siege imposed on Gaza, violations, the policy of annexation, emptying the land of its inhabitants and expelling them, the continued theft of land, settlement expansion, the opening of prisons, and the imprisonment and daily liquidation of Palestinians at racist checkpoints where execution operations are carried out by occupation soldiers. These crimes must not go unpunished and amount to war crimes punishable by international law.
The policy of settlement and Israeli crimes must be confronted by expanding the base of Palestinian popular action against the criminal settlement project, so that the masses form a national support base to continue the intifada and contribute to pressuring the international community to recognize the Palestinian state and put an end to Israeli crimes and the occupation's continued policies of field executions, deliberate and arbitrary killings outside the framework of the law, and other colonial policies intensified by the government and settler mobs to inflame the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.
The Israeli occupation's crimes will not go unpunished. All international law institutions, the United Nations with its institutions, procedures, and special rapporteurs, are called upon to work on documenting these crimes to hold the occupation accountable for all its crimes. These killers from the occupation forces, their agents, and their settlers belong in international prisons and before criminal courts. The United Nations is called upon to bring them to international justice because their field executions and killings outside the framework of the law are crimes within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, and they are war crimes amounting to crimes against humanity.
