The president of the Brazilian Association of Startups (ABStartups), of Tucuju Valley, and founder of Proesc.com, Lindomar Ferreira, will be one of the guests at the first edition of Glocal Macapá 2026, taking place this Friday (26) and Saturday (27) at Parque Residência and OAB Amapá.

Recognized as one of the main leaders of the innovation ecosystem in the Northern region, Lindomar will moderate the panel "Tucuju Innovation – Science, Technology and the Açaí Boom", which takes place on Friday (26), from 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM.

The debate will bring together representatives from the productive sector to discuss how science, technology, and one of the state's most important economic chains can drive the sustainable development of Amapá.

Leading initiatives focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, Lindomar has worked directly to strengthen the Amapá ecosystem, encouraging the creation of startups, training entrepreneurs, and connecting companies, universities, and public institutions.

For him, holding events like Glocal Macapá is essential to expand opportunities and strengthen the innovation environment in the state.

"Glocal Macapá is much more than an event. It is a space for connection between entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, students, and institutions that believe in the potential of the Amazon as a source of innovation for Brazil and the world," he says.

According to Lindomar, initiatives like Glocal help inspire new entrepreneurs, strengthen collaboration networks, and increase the state's visibility on the national stage.

"Events like this help generate opportunities, inspire new entrepreneurs, strengthen collaboration networks, and show that it is possible to create innovative businesses from the challenges and riches of our region. Furthermore, they put Amapá on the national innovation map, attracting visibility, partnerships, and investments," he highlights.

Analyzing the local scenario, the president of ABStartups assesses that Amapá has the conditions to become a national benchmark in Amazon innovation.

"I believe that Amapá can become a national benchmark in Amazon innovation. We are a state with unique biodiversity, extraordinary cultural wealth, and enormous opportunities linked to bioeconomy, technology, renewable energy, creative economy, and solutions for the Amazon," he emphasizes.

Lindomar also highlights the progress recorded by the local ecosystem in recent years.

"Amapá is already the 16th most innovative state in Brazil. In the last three years, the number of startups has grown about 500%, from 41 to 224 enterprises. Our goal is to reach a thousand startups in the coming years," he says.

Despite the progress, he notes that there are still significant challenges for entrepreneurs in the Northern region.

"We still face challenges related to access to capital, financing, training of specialized talent, connectivity in some regions, and the distance from the major economic centers of the country," he explains.

However, Lindomar believes that the scenario is evolving through the strengthening of local networks and institutional partnerships.

"Today, an entrepreneur from the Amazon can create a global startup without leaving the region, as long as they have access to knowledge, connections, and opportunities," he points out.

For young people who want to become entrepreneurs, the specialist leaves a message of encouragement and appreciation of regional potential.

"If you have an idea, Amapá has one of the best innovation ecosystems to help put it into practice and turn it into success. Entrepreneurship is about solving problems. The great opportunities of the future are not only in large urban centers. Many of them are here, in the Amazon," he highlights.

He also reinforces that big business can arise from solutions developed in the Amazon territory itself.

"Every large company started with an idea, a determined team, and a lot of persistence. The next innovative business capable of transforming the Amazon can be born in a classroom, in a community, or even in your home. The important thing is to take the first step and never stop learning," he concludes.

Panel will discuss science, technology, and the potential of açaí

During the Glocal Macapá program, Lindomar Ferreira will moderate the panel "Tucuju Innovation – Science, Technology and the Açaí Boom", which will feature Amiraldo Picanço, president of AmazonBai; Valda Gonçalves, CEO of Engenho de Açaí; and Wesley Resplande, president of Amazon BioFert.

The debate will address the challenges and opportunities related to innovation and strengthening one of the most relevant production chains for the Amapá economy.

With a free program, the event will bring together specialists, entrepreneurs, students, investors, and leaders to discuss topics related to innovation, technology, sustainability, and regional development.

Glocal Macapá is held by Fundação Rede Amazônica, conceived and operated by Dream Factory, with support from the State Department of Science and Technology of Amapá (Setec/AP), the Government of Amapá, and Tratalyx.
