Hundreds of settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque under protection of occupation police
Settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday, under tight protection from the Israeli occupation police.
Palestinian sources reported that about 240 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the direction of the Mughrabi Gate, carrying out provocative tours and performing Talmudic rituals, amid intensified military measures by the occupation forces in the vicinity of the mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem.
Groups affiliated with the so-called "Temple organizations" had called on their supporters to participate widely in storming Al-Aqsa Mosque and imposing new rituals inside it, under the pretext of celebrating the Jewish New Year.
The occupation exploits Jewish holidays to close roads and impose strict restrictions on the movement of Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, exacerbating their daily suffering and deepening the restrictions on freedom of worship and movement, while facilities are granted to settlers, and citizens are besieged within their cities, villages, and towns.
