ING appoints Bob Bakker as head of Investor Relations

ING today announced the appointment of Bob Bakker as head of Investor Relations. He succeeds Sjoerd Miltenburg, who has been appointed head of Wholesale Banking in the Netherlands.

Bob Bakker has been part of ING’s Investor Relations team since 2019, most recently as Senior Investor Relations Officer. During this time, he played a key role in shaping ING’s investor relations strategy and financial communication, building strong relationships with institutional investors, analysts and rating agencies, and advising the Executive Board on ING’s equity story and shareholder engagement.

Prior to joining Investor Relations, he held several senior finance roles within ING, including head of Finance Business Partnering at ING Bank Romania and head of Finance Management Information & Advice at ING Group.

As head of Investor Relations, he will report directly to ING’s chief financial officer, Ida Lerner.

Ida Lerner said: “Bob brings deep investor relations expertise and a strong understanding of ING’s strategy and performance. His strong track record in engaging with investors and advising the Executive Board makes him well placed to lead our Investor Relations function, and his experience will be key to communicating our performance and long-term value creation to investors, supporting our ambition to become the best European bank.”

“I would also like to thank Sjoerd for his significant contributions to our investor relations function. Over the past years, he was instrumental in conveying our ‘Growing the difference’ strategy to the market and translating it into a clear narrative for investors. He has played a key role in strengthening our dialogue with shareholders.”
