Two advertisements on Instagram, featuring football stars Harry Kane and Erling Haaland for an online betting site, have been banned by the UK's Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). The ASA stated that the ads breached their code because Kane and Haaland have a "strong appeal to under-18s." Oddschecker, which posted the images, argued they were editorial in nature and that the account was set to 18-plus. However, the ASA found that a significant number of underage individuals likely saw the ads, deeming them irresponsible. The watchdog concluded that the footballers' appeal to under-18s was high, leading to the violation of advertising codes. Separately, an ad featuring Thierry Henry for Betway was not found to be in breach.
