Bisnis.com, JAKARTA - The Integrated Solar Power Plant (PLTS) stands on Labengki Kecil Island, North Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, Thursday (28/5/2026).

The construction of the 54.45 kilowatt peak (kWp) renewable energy facility is one of the government's steps to expand electricity access in Indonesia's outermost and remote island regions.

The presence of the Integrated PLTS in the Southeast Sulawesi archipelago is part of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) efforts to address the energy crisis, especially in areas that are difficult to reach by conventional electricity grids. The use of solar energy is considered a strategic solution to meet the electricity needs of communities in remote areas.

In addition to improving energy supply reliability, the development of the PLTS is expected to boost local economic activities and support the use of clean and environmentally friendly energy in the archipelago. The government continues to expand the development of renewable energy infrastructure to achieve equitable national electricity access.
