Iran has condemned US air strikes near the Strait of Hormuz, calling them a "gross violation" of the ceasefire that began in April. The US Central Command (Centcom) stated that Iranian missile sites and boats involved in mine-laying were targeted in "self-defence strikes" on Monday. Iran's foreign ministry declared responsibility for the consequences of these "aggressive and unjustified actions" in the Hormozgan region. Centcom indicated the strikes were to protect US troops from Iranian threats, with reports suggesting they targeted an area near Bandar Abbas. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also claimed to have downed a US drone and fired at a jet.
