Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, promises revenge for his deceased predecessor and father, Ali Khamenei.
The leader stated this in a written message, according to Reuters.
He says the nation demands revenge, and that revenge will certainly take place.
Mojtaba Khamenei has not yet appeared in public since he became the country's new supreme leader earlier this year.
Media have reported that he is seriously wounded in the aftermath of the attack that killed his father.
The new leader sent his first message back in March. At that time as well, Khamenei promised retaliation for the attacks "on the Iranian martyrs."
This also happened in a written message that was read aloud on state TV.
In addition to the now-deceased Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, several other members of the Khamenei family and several high-ranking individuals, including from the Iranian military, have been killed in US and Israeli attacks.
Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28 in the first wave of US-Israeli attacks during the ongoing war, which has flared up again in recent days.
He was 86 years old and was buried in his hometown, Mashhad, in Iran on Friday.
