US senator forces vote on West Bank violence
Senator Chris Van Hollen says he has forced a Senate vote on a landmark resolution on Israeli violence in the occupied West Bank.
“Violence is raging in the West Bank, & despite the deaths of 9 Americans, the wrongful detention of even more, & the daily torment of Palestinians, we have no accountability from the U.S or Israeli govt,” Van Hollen wrote on X.
“I’m on the Floor now forcing a vote to get answers,” he added.
At least three Americans are currently held in Israeli prisons without charge: Sama Safi, Abdalkareem Safi and Adam Karakah.
