Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi criticized the irresponsible approach of European countries regarding events in the region and the EU's interventionist stances towards Iran.
In a phone conversation on Saturday night with EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas, Araghchi discussed regional and international developments. After outlining the evolving regional situation due to the US's non-compliance and violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, he criticized the irresponsible approach of European countries regarding events in the region and the EU's interventionist stances towards Iran.
The EU lacks authority to give lessons on human rights
He further stated that the EU, due to its double standards, full support for occupation and genocide, and its improper positions regarding the US-Zionist military aggression against Iran, lacks any moral authority to give lessons on human rights.
Iran warns the EU about Ukraine's "extremely dangerous" action
The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the "extremely dangerous" action of the Ukrainian regime in attacking an Iranian merchant ship in the Caspian Sea, reminding the EU of its responsibility as a sponsor of the Kiev regime. In this regard, he warned about the unpredictable consequences that such adventures could have for regional and international peace and security.
For her part, Kaja Kallas expressed concern about any expansion of conflict zones and emphasized the importance of maintaining consultations between the European Union and Iran to avoid further escalation of tensions.
