Israel bombs near the largest hospital in Tyre, southern Lebanon

The Israeli army carried out an airstrike near the Jabal Amel Hospital in the city of Tyre, southern Lebanon. Several people were injured in the attack, windows of the hospital were shattered, and nearby buildings and vehicles were damaged. Despite the ceasefire, attacks continue.

According to Lebanon's official news agency NNA, Israeli warplanes targeted a building and parking lot opposite Jabal Amel, the city's largest hospital, at the Ma'rake junction in Tyre. It was reported that some people were injured.

Images shared on social media showed that the hospital's windows had been shattered and nearby buildings and vehicles were damaged.

Israel's attacks on Lebanon and the ceasefire

The Israeli army began intensive airstrikes on Lebanon on March 2, occupying many towns in the south of the country. The Lebanese government announced that the number of displaced people in the country had exceeded 1 million.

US President Donald Trump announced on April 24 that the 10-day temporary ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, which had come into effect on April 17, was extended for an additional three weeks.

As a result of the third round of talks between Lebanon and Israel, mediated by the US and held on May 14-15, it was decided to extend the ceasefire for 45 days as of May 17 and to hold a fourth round of talks at the beginning of June.

In its latest statement, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 3,433 people have lost their lives in Israeli attacks on the country since March 2.

Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli army continues its attacks and house demolitions in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah carries out attacks on Israeli forces, claiming violations of the ceasefire.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement on May 25 that he had instructed the military to increase attacks on Lebanon.
