Peter Shenoda bought his first pharmacy in Methven in rural Canterbury in 2013 – just a couple of years out of pharmacy school.Within a couple of years, he opened a second pharmacy in Geraldine with friend and fellow recent graduate Atif Malkonyan. Then another in Kaitāia and another in Dunedin.Operating in rural areas, Shenoda and Malkonyan saw people were struggling with the cost of healthcare and spotted a gap in the market for a discount model.The pair opened their first Bargain Chemist store in Christchurch in March 2018....
