Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on US President Donald Trump's statement that Kyiv could be given a license to produce Patriot system missiles. This is reported by the Russian propaganda agency Interfax. The Kremlin stated that the US continues to supply Ukraine with weapons, including Patriot missiles, but at the same time, unlike Europeans, supposedly retain a desire to facilitate the peace process. "As for Patriot, yes, it is an obvious fact that the US is continuing to supply weapons and military technologies to Ukraine — we know this. We do not wear rose-colored glasses, President Vladimir Putin knows this well, but at the same time there is a certain duality in the position of the United States. The US, unlike the Europeans, retains a desire to contribute to reaching a peace process," Peskov said. According to Peskov, the Kremlin appreciates this position of Washington and welcomes it. "Let them sometimes be mistaken, let them sometimes be mistaken, but this desire seems sincere to us, we welcome it," he said. Peskov also commented on Trump's statement about the possibility of "closing the sky" over Ukraine as a security guarantee. "This is a new statement. There were no such statements before. No one has discussed the topic of closing the sky before. In any case, it will be about the armed forces of NATO countries operating on the territory of Ukraine. This is exactly what the special military operation is against," Peskov said. According to him, the Kremlin still needs to "comprehend" this statement. "It still needs to be understood how this issue is worked out, between whom it is worked out, and so on," the Kremlin spokesman said.
