The legal fight over six-year-old COVID tests is growing, with a Valparaiso attorney offering to represent defendants for a $50 flat fee and help gather evidence from the cases.
Kathy Lynch, who is one of a growing number of Northwest Indiana residents being sued by Zotec Wellness Resources for allegedly unpaid COVID test bills, said she hopes to ease the burden of legal fees and emotionally charged situations.

“I’ve met my obligation, have the benefit of my money,” Lynch said, “This isn’t about principle. It’s about being greedy and not being honest.”

Several former patients state they’ve all accessed COVID tests from Zotec and either paid cash at the time of service or the charges were not paid. Some of those patients have come forward to accuse Zotec or a Zotec entity of fraud.

“There’s no ethics for the people whose bills are being collected,” he said. “The collectors of the bills are not aware of the original billing practices.”
Patients state they’ve been sued over COVID tests from six years ago that they believe they paid in full at the time of service, according to a lawsuit filed by Zotec.
Many of those patients have come forward to accuse Zotec or a Zotec entity of fraud.
