First responders on Kauaʻi were dispatched to a report of a deceased man found in the vicinity of Kūhiō Highway and Wainiha Powerhouse Road on Friday afternoon, Sept. 11, 2026. The victim has been identified as a 59-year-old man from Wainiha.

A preliminary investigation determined that the area where the decedent was discovered experienced significant flooding during Hurricane Lowell, according to Kauaʻi police.
