Take-Two has issued subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord in relation to the leaked gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto VI. The subpoenas cite content that "infringes copyrights" held by the company and aim to identify the individuals responsible for the leaks.
According to documents filed on Thursday, Take-Two is seeking information about "audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements" related to the game. Both Microsoft and Discord have been given a deadline of September 4th to provide the requested data.
The leaked clips, which have been watermarked by a user or group named "CyberLeek," appear to show GTA VI protagonist Jason Duval engaging in various activities, including driving, piloting an aircraft, using a taser, and attacking an individual with a wrench. One clip notably features the word "LEEK" spelled out by bullet holes in a wall.
These leaks have surfaced shortly before Rockstar is scheduled to release an extended preview of the game on Netflix on August 27th. The full release of Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for November 19th.
