What happens if your name is not found in the 2002 voter list? 80% of SIR cases in Delhi resolved

The final voter list will be published on December 4.

New Delhi, 10:23 PM Oct 17, 2026 IST Updated At : 10:23 PM Oct 17, 2026 IST

Nearly 80 percent of the 33.12 lakh cases flagged during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Delhi voter list, due to non-matching of parents' names with the 2002 voter list or logical discrepancies, have been resolved.

The office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the National Capital stated that officials are continuing efforts to verify those left out of the draft voter list. These cases include voters whose details could not be matched with the 2002 voter list. Additionally, cases of voters flagged for logical reasons such as errors or discrepancies in personal details are also included.

According to a statement issued by the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Delhi, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) have resolved approximately 26 lakh out of 33,12,919 cases. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are visiting voters' homes to collect supporting documents for cases related to non-matching of names with the voter list or logical discrepancies. Officials are striving to resolve notice-related cases by the deadline of October 30.

This process is underway amidst concerns and protests over the removal of over 47 lakh voters from Delhi's draft voter list. This draft list was published on August 31. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi stated that voters whose names are not in the draft voter list can submit Form-6 to get their names included in the final voter list, subject to the prescribed procedure and verification.

Special camps have been organized at polling stations to help voters resolve discrepancies and apply for name inclusion. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer has stated that all 33.12 lakh notice-related cases are to be resolved by October 30. The final voter list will be published on December 4.
