Hydrosat, a leading provider of thermal infrared satellite data and AI-powered analytics, has been selected for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Space-Based Environmental Monitoring Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (SBEM IDIQ) contract.
This selection allows Hydrosat to offer its high-resolution multispectral and thermal imagery, along with AI-driven intelligence, to support NOAA's forecasting, environmental monitoring, and research initiatives. Hydrosat's technology converts surface temperature observations into actionable insights for various applications, including drought monitoring, wildfire assessment, agriculture, urban heat management, water management, and environmental change detection.
The SBEM IDIQ operates under NOAA's Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services Program 2.0, with a shared ceiling of $8 billion across participating contracts and awardees. This vehicle enables NOAA's weather, ocean, fisheries, and satellite services to procure professional, technical, and scientific capabilities. Through the SBEM IDIQ, Hydrosat will be eligible to compete for future task orders, which will outline the specific project requirements, funding, and delivery timelines. The contract is valid from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2036, comprising a five-year base period and a five-year option.

It also highlights the increasing government demand for commercial environmental data that complements public earth observation missions and facilitates faster, more informed decision-making.
The SBEM IDIQ, managed by NOAA's National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service through its Commercial Data Program, is designed to enhance the agency's procurement and operational use of commercial environmental satellite data. These observations are expected to bolster NOAA's prediction models, weather forecasting, space weather applications, and research conducted in partnership with interagency bodies, academic institutions, and other scientific organizations.
