Echoing NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang's "AI is a five-layer cake" proposition this year, at this year's COMPUTEX, at Quanta Cloud Technology (QCT) booth under Quanta, Quanta chairman Lin Bai-li, vice chairman Liang Ci-zhen, and executive vice president and QCT general manager Yang Qi-ling jointly presented a "five-layer AI cake" made of colorful cupcakes to Jensen Huang, which can be called the most "gold-rich" cake in the world.
The "AI five-layer cake" from bottom to top is Energy, Chips, Infrastructure, Models, Applications. After seeing the cake, Jensen Huang first opened his arms and made an inverted pyramid shape with a narrow bottom and wide top, saying: "This cake might need to be a different shape," meaning that the "application layer" should be the largest proportion. He then predicted: "There's a 100 trillion dollar opportunity here! (100 trillion here.)"
Jensen Huang then pointed to the "chips" layer and said: "Where I (NVIDIA) am is very small." Then pointing to the "infrastructure" layer directly related to QCT's business, he told Lin Bai-li: "Where you (QCT) are is very big."
Jensen Huang also stayed to share this most "gold-rich" "AI five-layer cake" in the world with Quanta colleagues. Among the colorful cupcakes, the green cupcake even had an NVIDIA logo, making Huang happily say: "The green one tastes best!"
Afterwards, Jensen Huang also specially thanked the technical teams of Quanta and QCT. He joked that he knew they had already given their all, but facing the burgeoning AI wave, "I honestly can't promise that work will become easier in the future; everyone will probably have to keep working crazy overtime." This remark made everyone laugh, highlighting the true industry landscape in the AI era.
