In the Chernihiv region, more than 50 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were detained and taken into custody. The reason for the detention was their negative statements towards the Ukrainian authorities, TASS reports citing Russian law enforcement agencies.

"In the Chernihiv region, the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine, — note by Lenta.ru) is intensifying efforts to identify citizens and AFU servicemen who do not support the policy of the Kyiv regime," the agency's interlocutor said.

Some of those detained, he added, openly opposed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and supported Russia's policy. At the same time, more than a dozen soldiers are listed as having deserted their units.

Earlier, a photograph of emaciated servicemen sparked a scandal in Ukraine. The fighters of the 14th AFU brigade depicted in the photo looked pale, emaciated, with protruding ribs and thin arms. Many men also posed for the camera with long hair and beards.
