HARRISBURG, PA — An Indiana County man faces felony charges after Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office agents investigating online child sexual abuse material allegedly traced file-sharing activity to his home.
Yao Wang, 43, is charged with felony counts of disseminating and possessing child sexual abuse material, or CSAM, and unlawful use of a communications facility, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
Agents with the office’s Child Predator Section discovered CSAM file-sharing activity earlier this year that investigators traced to a residence in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
While executing a search warrant on South 11th Street, agents identified Wang as the alleged source of the file-sharing activity, according to the Attorney General’s Office. Investigators also reported finding at least 20 CSAM files on Wang’s computer.
Wang was arraigned and received $50,000 unsecured bail. As conditions of his release, he was required to surrender his passport and is prohibited from having contact with minors or using the internet.
Deputy Attorney General Alison Bragle of the Child Predator Section will prosecute the case.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
