In one of the most significant anti-drug operations in Entre Ríos, the provincial police seized 260.87 kilos of high-purity cocaine after an operation in the Feliciano department. Governor Rogelio Frigerio highlighted the police action, the strengthening of controls on the northern border, and the investment in equipment and technology for the force, as well as the joint work with the justice system.
The governor held a press conference and noted that this is one of the most important land drug seizures in the history of the province, pointing out that the 250 packages of cocaine seized represent a market value of more than 10 million euros.
Alongside the Minister of Security and Justice, Néstor Roncaglia, Federal Judge Analía Graciela Ramponi, and Police Chief Claudio González, the governor praised the "valor, courage, and professionalism" of the Entre Ríos Police, which he called the best in the country, and underscored the social impact of the work by stating that these drugs "will no longer reach any home" in Entre Ríos. He also sent a strong message to criminal organizations, assuring that they will have no place in the province. "We will catch them and we will put them in jail," he emphasized.
He attributed this achievement to a border control strategy promoted by the Ministry of Security and Justice, which allowed identifying and monitoring 10 critical points in the territory, including Route 28, achieving unprecedented territorial presence. He also stressed that the success of the operation is the result of "permanent teamwork" with the Federal Justice system. Finally, he noted that to sustain this fight against organized crime, his administration has been making a strong investment in equipment, providing the force with "weapons, bulletproof vests, mobility, connectivity, and constant technical training."
Controlled borders
The Minister of Security, Néstor Roncaglia, highlighted the premise of "having the borders of Entre Ríos controlled" and the work of the police officers involved in the operation, whom he recognized. He said it is important to recognize "the great work these two police officers did for our society." He reported that since 2023, more than 2,700 micro-trafficking operations and 29 drug trafficking operations have been carried out, with more than 5,300 people arrested and the seizure of significant volumes of drugs, money, and logistics linked to crime.
For her part, the federal judge of Concordia, Analía Graciela Ramponi, preferred to keep details of the case confidential because "everything is under investigation." She confirmed that numerous evidentiary measures have already been ordered, including raids in Corrientes and Rosario, linked to the home of the arrested suspect Fiordelino. As a result, weapons, precision scales, more drugs, documents of interest, about 1.5 million pesos were seized, and a new arrest was made.
The press conference was also attended by Senator of the Feliciano department, Gladys Domínguez, and Deputy María Elena Romero.
