Putin Vows to Address Crimea Fuel Shortage, Cites Sufficient Reserves

Putin commented on the fuel situation in Crimea

The task of supplying Crimea with the necessary amount of fuel will be solved, there is a reserve on the peninsula, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Vesti journalist Pavel Zarubin.

"Regarding energy supplies to Crimea, the monthly requirement is 70,000 tons. Crimea currently has a few days' supply, but needs will be met. And we will increase these supplies both by land and by sea," the Russian president said in a video released by the Kremlin press service.

Putin expressed confidence that this task will be solved.

On the same day, during a meeting on providing fuel to the domestic market, Putin announced the availability of 1.7 million tons of reserves of gasoline in Russia.

As VZGLYAD newspaper reported, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak stated that the Russian domestic market is fully supplied with fuel. Putin announced the creation of a headquarters to monitor the fuel situation. The Russian leader also proposed developing additional steps for uninterrupted fuel supply to citizens.
