Rosoboronexport to unveil "Anti-UAV Dome" system at Russia-Africa Summit
Russian arms exporter Rosoboronexport will for the first time introduce an anti-drone (UAV) defense concept called the "Anti-UAV Dome" at the third Russia-Africa Summit, the company's press office announced.
"Rosoboronexport will for the first time present its latest concept for protecting civilians, military forces, and facilities from UAVs, titled the 'Anti-UAV Dome,' at the third Russia-Africa Summit, taking place at the Gostiny Dvor center in Moscow on October 28-29, 2026," the statement said.
The "dome" system is designed to protect civilians as well as strategic facilities, infrastructure, bridges, buildings, enterprises in the fuel and energy sector, and military deployment areas from UAV attacks. In certain configurations, the system can also be used to protect convoys and vehicles transporting high-profile individuals or cargo.
The project was developed by Rosoboronexport experts in collaboration with leading Russian manufacturers in the anti-UAV field and representatives of specialized security agencies. The foundation of the project is the practical experience in countering UAVs gained during military and counter-terrorism operations in recent years.
Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheev, as quoted by the press office, emphasized that protecting critical infrastructure from UAVs has become a fundamental element of national security, economic security, and technological development. Designing and building such a system rationally is necessary to ensure the effectiveness of state management and business operations, maintain logistics chains, and signal to investors that their investments are protected.
"Rosoboronexport proposes building a reliable protection system for each facility against UAVs, which can be adjusted to suit each partner and specific objective. All means and solutions used in the system have proven their effectiveness in real-world conditions," Mikheev stated.
The "Anti-UAV Dome" is a multi-layered defense system, including reconnaissance assets, UAV destruction via firepower and electronic warfare, as well as a geographic information system based on automated command systems and physical protection measures for facilities.
At the summit, the Russian arms exporter will introduce both the system concept and solutions for constructing the "Anti-UAV Dome" to its partners.
"Among these are firepower-based UAV destruction assets such as the Pantsir-SMD-E air defense missile system and the Pantsir-S1M gun-missile air defense system developed by High Precision Systems, the Verba man-portable air defense system, and the TKB-1167 aerial target destruction system, as well as the Citadel anti-aircraft artillery complex using programmable airburst ammunition manufactured by the Rostec State Corporation," the press office clarified.
Additionally, in the near future, the portfolio of Russian anti-UAV assets will be supplemented with mass-produced laser systems and electromagnetic pulse complexes currently in the final stages of testing.
Electronic detection and suppression complexes for UAV control and navigation channels, including Silok, Repellent-Patrol, Sky-Hunter 4PC, and the Antidrone version of Radescan, will also be presented.
According to the press office, the "Anti-UAV Dome" is an integrated system with components and functions designed according to the requirements of each client, taking into account the specific characteristics of the facility needing protection. All components of the "dome" system are researched, developed, and manufactured at Russian enterprises.
