San Vito Lo Capo, Trapani – Video, chat, social groups. From the computer and cell phone of the student who on Friday morning in San Vito Lo Capo attempted to stab a teacher at school may come the key to establishing the reason why he attacked his Technology teacher and, above all, whether someone pushed him to do it.
The network seems, in fact, to have played a decisive role in the whole affair. To see clearly, the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office of Palermo has opened a case, still against unknown persons, for incitement.
Social media investigations
Under the lens is the TikTok profile of the student who, in the days before the attack, had hinted at the intention to carry out a sensational act. From reading some comments, it emerges that several of his followers knew what he had in mind.
Some asked him how he would make the video of "the feat" and the boy describes exactly what happened, namely that he would use the cell phone attached to a helmet. The footage would have been broadcast in a Telegram live.
The same group as the boy from Bergamo
The analyses on the devices, which will be carried out in the coming weeks, will also establish whether the boy frequented the same chats as another middle school student, one year older, who at the end of March in Trescore Balneario, in the province of Bergamo, struck his French teacher with four knife blows.
This was hypothesized today by Il Messaggero, which published the version provided by a foreign girl, who appeared in the investigation into the March episode, who claims to have 'crossed' the thirteen-year-old and the twelve-year-old from San Vito Lo Capo in the same digital environments.
Certainly, in the dynamics, the two events, despite occurring over a thousand kilometers apart, seem to be linked by a thread. The thirteen-year-old from Bergamo had also carried out the aggression by making a Telegram live and had posted a delirious explanation of his reasons on his channels, which were later closed. The many similarities have led magistrates to investigate possible connections between the two acts. And the carabinieri are verifying "possible convergences".
The interrogation: I don't repent
Meanwhile, yesterday the twelve-year-old Sicilian was heard for hours, in a protected manner, by the juvenile prosecutor of Palermo. The student reportedly showed no remorse. The violence, investigators are certain, had been planned in detail in the preceding days.
The challenge
This is also demonstrated by the allusive posts published by the boy on his TikTok profile. Among these, a few hours before the event, he had written in English "don't blame me for what I will do" and in the previous days he had posted even more disturbing words: "my greatest fear is not being able to do even one".
A phrase that would suggest the intention to hit more than one person. The carabinieri have seized all the boy's electronic devices. On Friday morning, before entering the classroom, he went to the bathroom and put on a bicycle helmet on which he taped the cell phone with which he made a Telegram live of the attack. The thesis that behind the attack there was a challenge has been denied. The 12-year-old is not chargeable, but the juvenile magistrates are evaluating whether to entrust him to a specialized facility.
