Fresh restrictions on street trading, footway closures and planning applications are among the latest public notices.

Street trading control resolution

Mid Suffolk District Council has designated all streets in its district as "consent streets," meaning street trading will only be allowed with council approval.

This decision was made under Paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.

The A14, however, has been designated a "prohibited street" where street trading is not permitted.

The resolution was passed on June 25, 2026, and will take effect from August 1, 2026.

In other notices, two legal announcements have been published for individuals with claims against the estates of the deceased.

Claim to estate

Helen Alexandra Joan Pearce of Monmouth Close, Ipswich, died on April 18, 2026.

Claims must be submitted to Barker Gotelee at 41 Barrack Square, Ipswich, IP5 3RF, by September 8, 2026.

Similarly, claims against the estate of Mary Teresa Emmerson of 30 Gladstone Road, Ipswich, who died on November 24, 2014, should be sent to Kerseys Solicitors LLP at 32 Lloyds Avenue, Ipswich, IP1 3HD, by the same date.

Planning permission

A planning notice in Cockfield relates to Moat Cottage, Great Green, where an application has been submitted to repair and refurbish a thatched roof following fire damage.

Roadworks

Temporary footway closures are scheduled in Ipswich to allow water works to take place.

The affected areas are the A1022 Greyfriars Road footway, from Star Lane footway for 15 metres westbound, and the A1156 Star Lane footway, from Greyfriars Road footway for 15 metres eastbound.

Suffolk County Council said the closures are necessary to facilitate works, although other coordinated works may also occur during this period.

The closures are expected to be in place from July 20 to August 4, 2026, but the order could remain in force for up to 18 months if needed.

Suffolk County Council said: "This is to facilitate water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

"Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists."

The diversion route will follow Star Lane, St Peters Street, and Cutler Street, and vice versa.
