In what has been a violent Friday in Sinaloa, elements of various security corporations have suffered three armed ambushes in the municipalities of Mazatlán, Guasave, and San Ignacio.

An agent of the State Preventive Police was injured on the Mazatlán-Culiacán Bypass, near the town of El Chilillo, after armed individuals attacked the vehicle he was traveling in.

"Elements of the State Preventive Police who were carrying out security and surveillance actions (...) were the object of an aggression, in which one police officer was injured," confirmed the Secretariat of Public Security of Sinaloa.

Reports from the scene indicated the use of a drone to launch an explosive device against the patrol car, an event that caused the mobilization of rescue teams and forces from all three levels of government.

In a second incident registered in the early hours of this day, National Guard personnel repelled gunfire on the Carretera Internacional México 15, near the municipality of El Burrión, in Guasave.

The uniformed officers were conducting preventive patrols near a gas station when they detected a suspicious occupant in a dark vehicle and proceeded to detain him.

Moments later, trucks carrying armed individuals appeared and opened fire on the federal convoy before fleeing through rural roads and trails.

The confrontation in the north of the state left no military personnel injured or individuals detained, although it caused the temporary closure of the federal highway due to the installation of checkpoints.

The Mayor of Guasave, Cecilia Ramírez Montoya (Morena), confirmed that the municipality remains under surveillance and condemned the events.

The third armed incident occurred in the community of Coyotitán, in the municipality of San Ignacio, where personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy were carrying out an inspection operation.

The naval elements arrived near a property located in this municipality in the southern region of Sinaloa, meters from the entrance arch to the town, and were fired upon from inside.

According to local sources, the response of the federal forces led to an exchange of gunfire that concluded with a presumed aggressor killed at the scene, however, this has not been confirmed through official channels.

The arrival of the agents and the burst of gunfire were captured in a video disseminated on social media, where uniformed officers are seen descending with long weapons and aiming towards a property.

Forensic agents from the corresponding prosecutor's offices secured the three locations in the state to collect evidence and initiate investigation files.
