A new creative climate programme is putting Tottenham at the centre of community-led climate action.

Led by the Tottenham Creative Climate Collaborative (TC³), the series offers a blend of science, art and health in an effort to address climate change through artistic and community-driven solutions. The initiative, which kicks off on June 13, is funded by the Bupa Foundation and aims to help build climate resilience in Tottenham.

The programme is described as a first-of-its-kind model for one of London’s most climate-vulnerable communities.

RT Hon David Lammy MP, Member of Parliament for Tottenham, said: "TC³’s work is exactly the sort of engagement we need in order to reach the target of Net Zero. [Offering] a program of art, music, health and environment workshops in the heart of Tottenham, TC³…acts as a blueprint for positive climate action around the country."

Workshops are taking place at The Trampery on Tottenham High Road, a social enterprise venue, with the exception of the first event, ‘Mind Body Planet,’ which takes place at Walthamstow Wetlands.

Each session blends hands-on art activities with live science experiments and practical advice for everyday climate action.

Claire Baker-Mosley, head of community for the Bupa Foundation, said: "At the Bupa Foundation, we’re proud to support initiatives like TC³ that bring people together to build healthier, more resilient communities in practical, creative ways.

"By connecting climate action to everyday life and wellbeing, this programme is helping people feel inspired, confident and able to make a real difference close to home."

The workshops focus on simple steps individuals can take to combat climate change, such as switching energy sources, changing everyday spending habits, understanding the mental and physical health benefits of local natural spaces, and the power of platforming your voice.

The series is led by speakers from both STEM and the arts, and puts the community at its core. The full programme is available at www.creativeclimatecollab.org.

People can also connect on Instagram @creativeclimatecollab and follow along using the hashtag #ClimateCreative. Workshops are free and open to all, with registration available via Eventbrite at https://energyforchange.eventbrite.com.
