British Royal Air Force (RAF) will help refuel Saudi jets
Britain has agreed to provide Saudi Arabia with defense air support against Houthi threats, including in-air refueling for Saudi aircraft.
The UK has agreed to provide Saudi Arabia with military support to protect its energy infrastructure from Houthi attacks. This includes in-air refueling for Saudi jets, according to The Guardian.
According to Prime Minister Andy Burnham, Riyadh requested assistance from London, and the British side agreed to provide defensive in-air refueling for Saudi aircraft.
"We received a request for military support from Saudi Arabia and... I agreed to that request regarding defensive in-air refueling," Burnham said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the support should help protect energy facilities and maintain uninterrupted oil supplies from the Persian Gulf. He stated that this is important not only for the region but also for the global economy amid rising living costs.
Burnham also announced that during his first meeting with US President Donald Trump, he would urge him to de-escalate the conflict surrounding Iran. The British Prime Minister warned that "dark clouds of global instability" directly affect people's lives worldwide.
Earlier, it was reported that Turkey is ready to provide Saudi Arabia with technical military support in combating attacks by Iran-backed Houthi militants.
