A resident of Poltava region sentenced to 15 years for preparing a terrorist attack on Russia's orders

The court found a resident of Lubny guilty of cooperating with a representative of the Russian special service and preparing a terrorist attack in the Poltava region.

This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

She was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors proved that in March 2025, the woman was recruited via Telegram and carried out tasks for the Russian special service.

Initially, she collected information about objects in Kyiv and the Poltava region, in particular photographing a military facility and railway transport, passing the obtained data to the enemy for a monetary reward.

Subsequently, the accused agreed to prepare a terrorist attack in her hometown. Following the instructions of her curator, she rented an apartment and made an improvised explosive device, for the installation of which she was promised one thousand US dollars. At the same time, the Russian special services planned to use her "in the dark" and eliminate her during the commission of the crime.

Thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement, the terrorist attack was prevented and the woman was detained.

In court, she fully admitted her guilt and explained her actions by claiming she allegedly did not realize their consequences because she "did not watch the news."
