UNRWA Reports Nearly 100,000 Students Enrolled in Gaza Education Centers

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced the enrollment of approximately 97,000 students in its Gaza education centers for the 2026/2027 academic year, which commenced with a hybrid learning model.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Sunday that approximately 97,000 students had enrolled in its education centers in the Gaza Strip during the first week of the 2026/2027 academic year, which began on September 19.

In its report No. 235 regarding the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank—published on its X account and monitored by the Yemen News Agency (Saba)—UNRWA stated that the new academic year launched with a hybrid system combining in-person and remote learning. Meanwhile, in-person classes resumed at the UNRWA Rehabilitation Centre for the Visually Impaired campuses in Deir al-Balah and Gaza City.
