Valoriza workers bring their protests over the garbage service to Vilanova Rosi Pardagunde
Mobilizations will intensify next week

This Friday, the positions of the company Valoriza, concessionaire of the cleaning service shared by Vilanova, Cambados, and Meis, and its workforce have not budged an inch. In the midst of collective bargaining, both sides are currently two points apart: workers demand a 21% salary increase over the next five years, renouncing in exchange the social improvements that the firm offers them in areas such as vacations. Valoriza raised its initial offer this week to 19%. And for now, they have not moved from that.
The lack of agreement led the workforce to gather this Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the doors of the Vilanova City Council, one of the three that jointly manage the service. They have not received a single call from the mayor of this town, Gonzalo Durán (PP). The workers also lament that the Salnés Commonwealth has not made a move to at least understand the problem affecting the firm, which could lead to a strike on the 24th. Before reaching that point, the workers do not rule out holding other mobilizations.
For now, they have submitted a request for a meeting with the president of the Salnés Commonwealth, the mayor of Ribadumia David Castro (PP). Those who are indeed monitoring the conflict are Samuel Lago, mayor of Cambados, and Marta Giráldez, mayor of Meis, both from the PSOE. They trust that an agreement can be reached to avoid a strike that would coincide with the Albariño festival.
