The community of Río Cuarto once again showed its solidarity in the face of an international emergency. Following the tragic earthquakes in Venezuela, the local organized community of residents from that country launched a donation collection campaign.
The accumulated cargo will first be moved to the city of Córdoba, then sent to Buenos Aires, and finally transported by air to Caracas to directly assist the victims of the disaster.
The aid exceeded expectations and now logistics are needed
In a conversation with Diario Puntal, one of the coordinators of the local collection center expressed the deep emotion of the community for the support received in the city:
"All of us Venezuelans here in Argentina, especially in Río Cuarto, I think our hearts are full. We were not wrong in choosing Argentina as our home. Solidarity should be Argentina's middle name."
The response from the people of Río Cuarto exceeded the organizers' initial estimates. Initially, the group of volunteers planned to transport the collected supplies using private vehicles. However, the volume of donations increased massively, creating an unforeseen complication in transportation.
"What we need now is logistics," emphasized the coordinator. "We had a couple of boxes that we were going to take in cars, but thanks to the solidarity of everyone, the boxes got a bit bigger and we are worried about how to transport what we have from Río Cuarto to Córdoba." For this reason, they are appealing to transporters, companies, or individuals who have trucks or lorries and wish to collaborate with this leg of the journey.
