Venezuela's government is undergoing a significant overhaul, with over half of the ministers, the entire high military command, and parts of the presidential cabinet replaced since the current leadership took power. Hector Rodriguez, a prominent figure from previous administrations, has been appointed as the commissioner responsible for the "restructuring and re-engineering of the government."
This restructuring is intended to establish a new governmental structure adapted to what is described as a "new reality" for Venezuela. The results of this process are expected to be presented within 90 days.
In parallel, new hydrocarbon and mining laws have been introduced, facilitating foreign capital investment in these sectors. An amnesty law has also been enacted, leading to the release of hundreds of political prisoners. Some programs initiated under the previous administration have been discontinued, with a stated aim to revive the national economy.
