On June 24, the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) - a unit under the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and the National Power System and Electricity Market Operation Company Limited (NSMO) signed a Cooperation Agreement to research, develop and apply technology solutions to improve the efficiency of Vietnam's power system and electricity market operation.
Under the agreement, VPI and NSMO will collaborate on research, development and application of digital models, digital twins, data analysis tools, simulation, forecasting and optimization of power system and electricity market operation. VPI will lead and coordinate with technology partners to develop models, algorithms, and data analysis products to serve power system operation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh - Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of NSMO said that given the rapid and comprehensive development requirements of dispatching in the context of the expanding national power system, building a centralized, unified data platform to serve NSMO's operations as well as the energy sector is an urgent requirement. NSMO leaders expect that the combination of NSMO's operational experience and VPI's research and technology development capabilities will bring practical results, contributing to improving power system operation capacity and ensuring national energy security.

Dr. Nguyen Van Tu - Director of VPI said that VPI will focus maximum resources and coordinate closely with NSMO and relevant units to effectively implement the cooperation contents. The goal is to create quality science and technology products with high practical value, serving the effective operation of the power system, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's industry and energy sector.
