Zelenskyy claimed that Russia plans to bolster its forces in the war against Ukraine by recruiting 30,000 North Koreans. He said that Moscow is already preparing to receive them, without providing further evidence. "We also see Russia's cooperation with North Korea. Russia wants to bring in another 30,000 North Korean soldiers," Zelenskyy said in his nightly address. "Preparations have been underway since June in the Voronezh region to welcome them," he added. Based on the defense pact signed between Russia and North Korea, Pyongyang sent 14,000 soldiers to fight alongside the Russians in Kursk in 2024, following the penetration of Ukrainian forces into that area, according to AP-MPE.
