Kyiv (dpa) - After a heavy Russian attack with many dead and wounded on Monday night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is again warning of a major assault. He said another massive attack could come as soon as this night, citing intelligence information in his evening video address. Only on Monday night, Russia again subjected Ukraine to heavy airstrikes. Zelenskyy reported 22 dead and 130 wounded.

Zelenskyy further said that Russia classifies Ukrainian companies making progress in the development and production of missiles as priority targets. Ukraine will respond.

Heavy attack just last night

In its war of aggression that has been going on for more than four years, Russia systematically attacks the hinterland of Ukraine. Day after day, civilians are injured or killed - again and again in residential buildings, kindergartens and hospitals.

Because of a Ukrainian attack on the Russian-controlled city of Starobilsk about a week and a half ago, Moscow had announced retaliation. A few days later, Russia launched one of the heaviest attacks on Ukraine so far. Subsequently, the Kremlin announced that it would systematically attack armaments objects and 'decision centers' in Kyiv and called on diplomats to leave the city.

According to the occupation authorities, more than 20 civilians were killed in the attack on Starobilsk in a dormitory. Kyiv stated that the attack was aimed at a drone unit of the Russian military.
