Deputy Head of the Erat Jil Party: Attacks on International Navigation Threaten Regional and Global Stability
Ibrahim Diaa, Deputy Head of the Erat Jil Party, affirmed his full solidarity with the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and his strong condemnation of the attacks targeting a Saudi oil tanker, considering that targeting civilian facilities, means of transport, and maritime corridors represents a dangerous escalation that contravenes the rules of international law and threatens the security and stability of the region, as well as its direct impact on global trade movements and international supply chains.
Diaa stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a fundamental pillar of security and stability in the Arab region, and that any attack targeting its security or interests is an attack on the entire Arab national security, stressing that the current stage requires a unified Arab position that rejects all forms of terrorism and attacks targeting Arab states or affecting their security, sovereignty, or the safety of their vital installations.
The Deputy Head of the Erat Jil Party added that maintaining the security of the Red Sea and freedom of navigation in international waterways has become a strategic necessity, not only for the countries of the region but for the entire global economy, affirming that any attempts to threaten commercial vessels or oil tankers would deepen global economic crises, disrupt trade movements, and raise transport and shipping costs, negatively impacting international markets and the interests of peoples.
Ibrahim Diaa pointed out that Egypt's steadfast position in supporting the security and stability of Arab states reflects a firm strategic vision based on respect for the sovereignty of states and rejection of any practices that threaten regional security or affect freedom of international navigation, praising the Egyptian diplomatic moves that always emphasize the need to prioritize dialogue, contain crises, and prevent the region from slipping into new circles of conflict and instability.
He concluded his statements by affirming that respecting the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, and ensuring the security of international maritime corridors, represent a collective responsibility incumbent upon the international community, calling for a firm stance against all those who threaten the security of international navigation or target civilian installations, and stressing that Egypt will remain supportive of everything that preserves the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, enhances Arab solidarity, and protects the stability of the region and the interests of its peoples in the face of current challenges.
