On October 12, 2026, a serviceman from the village of Kniazhychi in the Kyiv region, Serhii Spirin, was killed while performing his official duties. He gave the most precious thing — his life — for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

"The community is mourning. Sergeant Serhii Spirin, a serviceman, was killed on October 12, 2026, while performing his official duties near the settlement of Chervona Poliana in the Izium district of the Kharkiv region. Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Serhii Vasylovych," the statement said.
The farewell ceremony for the defender of Ukraine will take place on Wednesday, October 21, at 10:50 AM near his home in the village of Kniazhychi at 28 Zaloznoho Street. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM at the local church on Slavy Street.
The soldier will be buried at the Alley of Glory of the new cemetery on Mariia Lahunova Street (Kniazhychi village).
