CONSTRUCTION on Maleny’s Maple Street Streetscape Project is now underway, with works expected to continue through to August 2026, weather permitting.

The upgrade will deliver safer pedestrian crossings, improved footpaths, upgraded stormwater infrastructure and additional street greenery, while retaining the character and accessibility of the town centre.

Works will generally be carried out Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm, with the noisiest activity scheduled between 7am and 11am.

Residents and traders can expect some dust, noise and vibration during construction.

Early works are focused on pedestrian crossings near IGA, Fig Street and Myrtle Street.

Maple Street will remain open throughout the project, with businesses continuing to trade, although temporary changes to parking, traffic flow and pedestrian access will be required. Traffic management and signage will be in place.

Maleny Commerce is encouraging continued support for local businesses during the works, with council to provide ongoing project updates.
