An Ordinary Workday Ended in an Explosion: A Mechanic Injured in Kharkiv Region
In the Kharkiv region, a mechanic was blown up during field work.
In the Zolochiv community of Kharkiv region, another incident of detonating an explosive device occurred. The head of the Zolochiv settlement military administration, Viktor Kovalenko, reported the incident.
During agricultural work, a 55-year-old mechanic was injured, he says.
The Explosion Happened Right in the Field
According to preliminary data, the event occurred on June 12 at around 14:10 near the town of Zolochiv. The man was working in the field on agricultural machinery when an unknown mine-explosive device detonated. As a result of the explosion, the mechanic sustained multiple injuries.
The Victim Was Hospitalized
As a result of the explosion, the man suffered injuries to:
- face;
- torso;
- arms;
- legs.
The victim was promptly provided medical assistance at a local medical facility. Currently, doctors are assessing his condition and providing necessary treatment.
Danger in De-Occupied Territories
Experts emphasize that a significant part of the Kharkiv region, especially near former combat zones, remains potentially dangerous due to mining and the presence of unexploded ordnance.
Even during ordinary field work or being in open areas, there is a risk of encountering explosive devices left after the Russian occupation and hostilities, they say.
