I ask the Ministers for Disaster Recovery and Local Government to reject the S68 Rockwall plan for Wamberal beach.

My reasons for this follow.

Approval will expose the NSW Government to liability because of poor seawall advice.

Proper offshore sand nourishment needs to be the next action at Wamberal beach as opposed to 6T more rocks in addition to the 5T already dumped on this community asset.

Central Coast Council offered sand geobags as expert’s emergency response in 2025, but the current proponents rejected this logical solution.

The real emergency here is Council’s refusal to consult with the community who oppose any seawall on Wamberal beach.

Proposed works will transfer wave energy to adjacent to Wamberal and Terrigal lagoons, creating bigger flood emergencies during increasingly frequent East Coast Lows in these suburbs, where house and contents premiums have increased by more than 100% over the last five years.

The broader community has been prevented from seeing any environmental studies of seawall impacts of this plan on either Wamberal and Terrigal lagoons or Wamberal Lagoon Nature reserve.
